About Our Team
Our swimmers are divided into different group based on their assessed abilities and development goals. At the start of each season, each swimmer is re-assessed and placed in the appropriate developmental group that would best serve them. Depending on their progressions, our coaching staff may adjust them accordingly during the season.
Squid Squad - Pre-Competitive Swimmers
- 5 - 8 Years of Age
- Practice up to 60 minutes
- Must be able to swim 25 yards freestyle and backstroke
Jellies - Beginner Swimmers
- 7 - 11 Year of Age
- Practices up to 120 minutes
- All athletes at this level must know how to do 4 competitive strokes. Strokes do not have to be legal. Emphasis is on rules and techniques.
Jellies - Intermediate Swimmers
- 9-14 Years of Age
- Practices up to 120 minutes
- All athletes at this level are legal in all 4 competitive strokes. Athletes are pushed hard and a larger emphasis is placed on times and pace clock works and race pace training.
Jellies - Advanced Swimmers
- 13+ Years of Age
- Practices up to 120 minutes
- Increased yardage and training at an elite level. Athletes are pushed hard, and a larger emphasis is placed on times, pace clock work, and race pace training.
Special Olympics - Special Needs Athletes
- 8+ Years of Age
- Fitness and sport training program for individuals with intellectual disabilities. All participants must be able to swim 25 yards on their back and front. Each athlete will need a Special Olympics New York Medical Form filled out and signed by a doctor.
